What information do we collect? You can visit our website without submitting any information about yourself or being required to register. We only collect personally identifiable information that is voluntarily and knowingly submitted.
When you visit our website or make a donation online or offline, you may provide us with personal information (such as your name, billing address, credit card or e-check information, e-mail and phone number) that you knowingly chose to disclose, which is collected and stored for various purposes.
If you send us an e-mail, subscribe to one of our publications, fill out our online campaign request ("Start a Campaign”) or register for a fundraising event, we will have your name, e-mail and the other relevant information you have provided.
We ask for personal information so that we can fulfill your request and return your message. This information is retained and used in accordance with existing laws, rules, regulations and other practices.

If you make a donation, register for a fundraising event, sign up for our e-newsletter, or fill out an online application your information will be added to one or more of our databases and you may be contacted by HelpHOPELive with news and/or fundraising messages.

How do we protect your information? We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit or access your personal information.
Our credit card processing is PCI Compliant. We use a secure server. All supplied credit card information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology (the industry standard security technology that is designed to protect sensitive information) and then encrypted into our payment gateway provider’s database, accessible only to those authorized with special access rights to such systems; they are required to keep the information confidential.
Our donation pages display a Secure Site Seal to assure you that our website is authentic and that transactions are secured by SSL encryption. If you are making an online donation, the credit card information you provide at the time of donation is used to process your donation.
After a one-time donation, your credit card information will not be stored on our server. If you choose to set up recurring donations you will be asked to set up a billing profile. In this case, your credit card number is encrypted in our web database and only the last 4 digits of the credit card number are displayed or printed. (One exception is that when a donor wants to edit billing information, the entire credit card number is displayed on a secure page so you can update the credit card number.) The security (CVV) code is never stored.
We keep any paper documents containing personal information in locked file cabinets and shred paper documents prior to disposal.
Our website may log the IP addresses of visitors, but only to administer the site and diagnose problems with our server. IP addresses are not used to identify individuals.
We reserve the right to share personal information you provide with legal authorities if it is, in our sole opinion, necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected fraud, situations involving threats or potential harm or if required by law (such as by subpoena, court order or other legal means).
